The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) bids farewell to the long-standing EFS-Web and Private PAIR systems, officially embracing the state-of-the-art Patent Center. This strategic move aligns with the USPTO’s commitment to enhancing efficiency and effectiveness for its users. Patent Center serves as a comprehensive solution, streamlining the filing and management of patent applications through a user-friendly interface, promising improved system performance and heightened security.

Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and USPTO Director, Kathi Vidal emphasizes the milestone’s importance, acknowledging the transitional challenges and expressing gratitude for stakeholder feedback. The USPTO has proactively engaged with over 25 stakeholder groups, addressing concerns and facilitating a smooth transition. With over 60% of filers now leveraging the Patent Center, this shift marks a successful stride into a new era of technological advancement, promising better processing and enhanced efficiencies for patent applicants.
